WARNING!

It is paramount to underscore that the improper use of kinetic ropes can pose severe risks to individuals and property. Due to the remarkable stretch capability, exceeding 20% of its length, the kinetic energy generated during recovery or towing can surpass the structural limits of anchoring points, connectors (such as shackles), or the kinetic rope itself. This elastic property can lead to a potentially dangerous slingshot effect, resulting in significant harm or damage.

Rusty 4x4 assumes no liability for any injury or property damage arising from the use of these kinetic ropes. It is imperative to exercise extreme caution, adhere to safety guidelines, and receive proper training when employing such equipment in recovery operations. Safety should always be the foremost consideration when dealing with kinetic ropes to mitigate potential risks effectively.

Basic Principles:

  1. Avoid putting yourself or your vehicle in harm's way by avoiding getting stuck.
  2. For effective recovery, it is important to select a vehicle with a weight similar to that of the bogged down vehicle.
  3. Ensure that any anchoring points used on a vehicle are directly connected to the chassis and have been rated by the manufacturer.
  4. When selecting connectors (shackles), be sure to choose ones that are rated for the correct size. (Preferably use soft shackles which are safer.)
  5. Avoid using a kinetic rope as a winch cable or winch cable extension.
  6. Avoid tying any knots when connecting a kinetic rope to a vehicle.
  7. Ensure the kinetic rope is undamaged.
  8. Avoid combining or extending this rope with any other ropes, webbings, chains or cables.
  9. Add 20% of the rope's length in the direction of pull, make a mark on the ground, and never exceed this distance with the recovery vehicle when pulling.
  10. Exercise caution for bystanders within the rope's range.
  11. Keep the rope clean and free from sand or grit.
